Fire Funding Fix
After years of bipartisan work, Michael led the effort to secure a long-term funding fix to end “fire borrowing,” the practice of taking money from fire prevention accounts to pay to fight fires. The fix modernizes the Forest Service by increasing its capacity to budget effectively and restore forest health, allowing the Forest Service to complete the entirety of its mission.
