Washington, D.C. – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today, on the 5th anniversary of the shooting in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater, honored the victims and paid tribute to the survivors, families, and first responders.

“It’s been five years since a violent and senseless tragedy took the lives of twelve innocent people, and injured 70 more, in our community,” Bennet said. “Today, our thoughts are with the victims and their families. We remember the courage of those who risked their own lives to save their loved ones, the acts of heroism of the first responders and volunteers, and the resiliency that so many Coloradans demonstrated in the months and years that have followed. We will never forget those we lost.”
