Denver, CO – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today honors Colorado’s first-ever Public Lands Day by celebrating the state’s admirable tradition of conservation.
Today, Bennet shared a letter with organizations around the state that are hosting events throughout the day and taking action to maintain and protect public lands.
Tomorrow, Bennet will speak at an event at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Elephant Revival to celebrate our public lands.
“There is no other country in the world that has a system of public lands like the United States-and there is not a state in this country that values public lands more than Colorado,” Bennet wrote in the letter. “We all must continue to encourage engagement from Coloradans, as your voices can make a difference in Washington. I stand with you in this effort, because I believe our character as a nation is revealed in what we choose to preserve-now, and for generations to come.”
