Washington, DC – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement on the final signing of a contract by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Army Corps of Engineers, and Kiewit-Turner to complete the replacement VA medical facility under construction in Aurora:

“After years of delay, there is finally a resolution that will allow the VA medical center to be completed. The Colorado delegation will continue to push the VA and Army Corps to ensure the project is on time and on budget, and to hold the VA accountable. Congress, taxpayers, and veterans have no appetite for additional setbacks or funding issues. The veterans of our state and the Rocky Mountain region have been waiting long enough for the world-class facility they have earned.”
