Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement on the anniversary of last year’s tragic flooding:
“A year ago, when the rain began falling, many of us could have never predicted the unprecedented devastation and destruction that would follow. In the aftermath of this crisis we saw Coloradans from every corner of the state, from every age, background, and belief come to the aid of their neighbors and work together to recover and rebuild. Now on the anniversary of these tragic events it is truly inspiring to see the remarkable progress that has been achieved, and it is a testament to our courage, our willpower, and our resilience. We know that the road to recovery is long, and there is still work left to do. We will continue to work alongside our families, local leaders, farmers, and businesses to move our communities forward and rebuild better than before.”
