Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today congratulated the U.S. Government Printing Office’s (GPO) Congressman Frank Evans Document Distribution Center in Pueblo on achieving the milestone of distributing more than one billion consumer publications.
“The Pueblo distribution center has worked for several decades to keep Coloradans and Americans informed about important consumer-related issues. This milestone serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the employees who help ensure that people around the country have access to these important resources,” Bennet said. “Congratulations to the employees who continually provide excellent service to Colorado and the entire country.”
The one billionth publication distributed was the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Consumer Information Catalog, which lists approximately 200 free and low-cost publications available to the public from Federal agencies on topics related to money, health, employment, housing, federal programs, education and travel. The center started distributing the catalog in 1973 and it was one of the first publications made available to the public since the center opened in 1971.
