As the April 15th tax deadline approaches, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet reminds Coloradans that free federal tax-filing service is available for individuals making $57,000 or less in 2012.

Through IRS Free File, these individuals can prepare and e-file their federal tax returns for free by visiting www.IRS.gov/freefile. About 100 million Americans – or 70 percent of taxpayers – are eligible for this free service.

“Free File is a valuable resource that can assist hard-working Coloradans file their taxes at no cost.  I encourage eligible Coloradans to visit the IRS Free File website to learn more,” Bennet said. “Additionally, we’ve dedicated a page on our website to help Coloradans learn about other helpful tax-related services and tips.”
