Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet is accepting internship applications from undergraduate students, recent graduates, and graduate students for his Washington, DC and Colorado offices. In addition to his Washington office, internships are available year round in the following Colorado locations: Colorado Springs, Denver, Durango, Fort Collins, Grand Junction and Pueblo.
Washington Interns research legislative issues, meet with Congressional officials and staff, attend hearings and briefings, conduct U.S. Capitol tours, and draft correspondence.
Colorado Interns assist Constituent Advocates as they meet with and assist Coloradans who need help navigating the federal government, represent Senator Bennet at local meetings and events, research legislative issues, and draft correspondence.
“Interns play an important role in each of my offices, providing support to me and my staff as we work to serve Coloradans and fix a broken Washington,” said Bennet. “Our Colorado and Washington internship programs provide great opportunities to gain firsthand experience into the governmental and legislative processes, and to learn more about significant issues facing Coloradans and all Americans. An internship with my office provides a solid foundation for any young person entering the job market, especially those interested in a career in public service. The deadline to apply for an internship in Washington for either summer session is March 15th. The first summer session begins on May 20th and the second session begins July 8th. This is an unpaid position
For internships in one of Bennet’s Colorado offices, applicants will be considered on a rolling basis and can apply any time.
