Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) selection of office space in downtown Denver for the new satellite patent office. The USPTO signed a lease at the Byron G. Rogers Building at 1960 Stout Street.
“This brings us one step closer to opening Colorado’s regional patent office and delivering the jobs and economic development that come with it. The patent office will firmly establish our state as a destination for inventors and entrepreneurs and bolster our reputation as a hotbed for cutting-edge industries with deeply embedded cultures of innovation.”
The USPTO announced in July it will open a new regional office in the Denver metro region by 2014. Bennet helped lead the collaborative effort among business leaders, academic and local government officials, and the Colorado Congressional delegation to bring the patent office to Colorado.
