Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet announced today that the Larimer County Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is coordinating resources for veterans displaced by the High Park Fire.
DAV’s natural disaster fund supports hotel stays for veterans who are out of their homes. Veterans in Northern Colorado who have been displaced by the fire can contact Erin Straub at Larimer DAV. She can be reached at larimerdav@gmail.com.
“If you’re a veteran who’s been displaced by the fire, or you know someone who is, the DAV might be able to help. If you don’t qualify for assistance through the DAV, you can find additional resources and information about the fire on my website,” Bennet said. “Those close to the fire should take all warnings and evacuation orders very seriously and move to safety as directed. As crews work tirelessly to contain the fire, our main concern is the safety of Larimer County residents.”
Roughly 25,000 veterans live in Larimer County, according to the Larimer County Veterans Service Office.
More information on the High Park Fire is available on the Bennet website here.
