Durango, CO – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today announced that John Whitney of Durango will serve as his regional director for the Four Corners Region of Colorado, covering Dolores, Montezuma, San Juan, La Plata and Archuleta counties.
As one of Bennet’s representatives in Southwest Colorado, Whitney will lead the Four Corners Office as it provides services for area residents and serves as a liaison for local organizations and elected officials.
Whitney is the former Southwest Regional Director for outgoing U.S. Representative John Salazar. He worked extensively on issues affecting the Four Corners Region, including the Chimney Rocky National Monument Act and the San Juan Mountains Wilderness Act. He is a graduate of Fort Lewis College
Whitney lives in Durango with his wife and two children.
