Washington, DC – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement on Senate passage of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.

“When America was attacked on September 11, 2001, heroic first responders risked their lives by running into burning buildings and wading through smoldering wreckage to help save the lives of others,” said Bennet.  “Many of these brave men and women developed serious illnesses as a result of their heroism that day.  This bill will ensure they get the care and respect they deserve.”

First responders around the country who assisted efforts in New York and Washington, including more than two hundred from Colorado, will benefit from this bill.
