Washington, DC – Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement on the untimely death of Denver Water CEO Hamlet “Chips” Barry on Sunday:
“Chips was a well-respected expert on water and conservation issues, but above all else he was a great friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Susan and I both had the chance to work with him and experience first-hand his thoughtful stewardship of such a precious resource. Chips led the modernization of Denver Water to promote conservation and constantly sought to build consensus on water issues across Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West. Gail, Pennan and Duncan, and the rest of the Barry family are in our thoughts at this difficult time.”
