Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Michael Bennet’s office released Fighting for Colorado Families: A Year in Review, a report detailing his work on behalf of the people of Colorado during his first year in the Senate.

Bennet was sworn in to serve as Colorado’s thirty-seventh United States Senator on January 22, 2009. He has not wasted a moment in the weeks and months since, visiting with Coloradans in all of our state’s sixty-four counties and fighting every day to create a better future for all Colorado families.

Fighting for Colorado Families: Year in Review is intended to serve as a source of information on Michael’s ongoing efforts on behalf of Colorado’s working families.

“I want to thank all the Coloradans-in all of our state’s sixty-four counties-who have shared their ideas and input on how we can work together to build a better future for Colorado,” said Bennet. “In these difficult times, when too many families in our state are still struggling with job layoffs and home foreclosures, I will continue to fight for them every single day.”

Fighting for Colorado Families: Year in Review serves as a comprehensive account of Bennet’s work-to-date on several issues of critical importance to the people of Colorado. It includes highlights of Bennet’s efforts to: help Coloradans navigate the federal bureaucracy, create jobs and grow our economy, protect Colorado’s land, water and natural heritage, restore America’s promise to our veterans, and support farmers, ranchers and rural communities.

The Review is available for viewing by the public online on Bennet’s website at bennet.senate.gov. A link to the full report can be accessed directly by clicking here.

“The challenges we face are bigger than the tired political games in Washington that too often take precedence over problem solving, and it’s going to require all of us, working together, to get results,” continued Bennet. “We’ve accomplished a lot over the past year, but we still have a lot of work left to do. We can’t let up in our efforts to create jobs, to preserve our natural heritage, to support our farmers and ranchers, and to build a better future for all Colorado families and generations of Coloradans to come.”
