Denver — Today, U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper celebrated the announcement from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) that $38 million would be made available for infrastructure improvements at Colorado airports.
“Colorado’s regional and municipal airports help connect communities and fuel local economies. I welcome this funding that will support much-needed upgrades to improve safety and expand capacity at airports around the state,” said Bennet.
“Our airports are the gateway to communities across Colorado. These improvements will keep our rural communities connected,” said Hickenlooper.
In 2023 alone, the AIP has awarded over $87 million to airports across Colorado to improve runways, taxiways, and airport signage, lighting, marking, and facilities.
