Washington, D.C. – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet invites students to apply for a nomination to a U.S. Service Academy for the class entering in 2018.
U.S. Service Academies are federal institutions that prepare cadets to become officers in the U.S. Military, while concurrently earning their bachelor’s degrees. Applying to a Service Academy is different from applying to a college or university. To be considered for admission to a Service Academy, each candidate must receive a nomination from a Member of Congress. Attending a Service Academy is a pledge to build upon the legacy of service, character, and integrity of those who have served our country.
There are two weeks left to apply for a nomination to one of the following U.S. Service Academies:
- U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO
- U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY
- U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD
- U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY
Students interested in applying to receive a nomination from Bennet’s office must complete an online application by October 2.
Those interested in submitting applications should click HERE to apply. Please keep in mind that applying to Bennet’s office is only one part of the process. Students must also apply directly to the academies, and are encouraged to reach out to their school counselors for guidance.
