Washington, D.C. – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today issued the following statement regarding a resolution that would repeal BLM’s methane emissions waste and reduction regulation:
“If the BLM methane CRA is brought to the Senate floor, I will vote against it. Coloradans-from nurses to family farmers to more than 50 mayors and county commissioners-have spoken out about the importance of reducing methane emissions. We led the nation as the first state to regulate these emissions directly, bringing cleaner air and a thriving economy to Colorado. We must retain these common-sense rules not only for our environment, but also for taxpayers to receive a fair return on oil and gas resources. I will oppose a resolution that threatens our children’s health and squanders opportunities to create jobs in Colorado.”
