Washington, D.C.
– Colorado Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement in response to President Trump’s one-page tax reform proposal released earlier today in place of the full, comprehensive proposal that was promised weeks ago:

“I am ready to work with my Republican colleagues on fiscally-responsible tax reform that will make our country more competitive and provide real relief to lower- and middle-income families,” Bennet said. “But this is not a serious proposal. What is clear from the 234-word ‘plan’ is that these changes would explode the debt and provide a large tax cut to the wealthiest families and individuals, paid for by everyone else. President Trump promised to be an economic change-agent, but instead he’s proposing old, bad ideas that won’t help working families and hoping his voters won’t notice.”
