Washington, D.C. – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet encourages students to learn more about attending U.S. service academies.

In April and May, Bennet’s office, in coordination with the Colorado congressional delegation, will host information sessions in Colorado for students interested in attending one of the five service academies.

The sessions will offer information about the nomination and application processes for service academies. The events are free and open to the public.

Information Session Dates:

  • Saturday, April 1 in Grand Junction
    • Time: 12:00 PM
    • Location: Colorado Mesa University Love Recital Hall at the Moss Performing Arts Center, 1100 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO.
  • Saturday, April 15 in Fort Morgan
    • Time: 1:00 PM
    • Location: Fort Morgan High School, 709 East Riverview Ave, Fort Morgan, CO
  • Saturday, April 22 in Denver
    • Time: 1:00 PM
    • Location: Denver South High School, 1700 E. Louisiana Ave, Denver, CO
  • Saturday, May 6 in Durango
    • Time: 1:00 PM
    • Location: Durango High School, 2390 Main Ave, Durango, CO

The sessions will provide students and parents the opportunity to meet representatives from the following institutions:

  • U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO
  • U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY
  • U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD
  • U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY 
  • U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT

In January 2017, Bennet congratulated the class of 2021 nominees with certificates during a ceremony in Denver.
