Washington, D.C. – Colorado U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner announced their Colorado offices will host Open House events for Coloradans to learn more about the Colorado Capital Conference in Washington. Senators Bennet and Gardner host the Colorado Capital Conference, in partnership with Colorado Mesa University and University of Colorado, to provide an opportunity for Coloradans to travel to Washington, D.C. and hear from elected officials, journalists, and academics to gain a better understanding of how our government operates.

All Coloradans are encouraged to apply here to attend the conference, which is held June 8-10, 2016. Applications are due no later than March 25, 2016.

To learn more about the conference, attend an Open House event on February 11, 2016 where representatives from Senators Bennet’s and Gardner’s offices will be available to answer questions.

“We encourage Coloradans to visit with our staffs and learn more about the Capital Conference,” Bennet said. “It’s an excellent opportunity for us to meet with the people we represent and discuss what’s most important to them. It also allows Coloradans from around the state to connect with one another and share their ideas about how to keep Colorado the best state in the country to live and work.”

“The Colorado Capital Conference is a wonderful opportunity for people from all over Colorado to travel to Washington, D.C. and meet with our nation’s top leaders, which have included Supreme Court Justices, heads of executive agencies, and Members of Senate leadership.” said Gardner. “The Capital Conference is a Colorado tradition, and one I look forward to each year. Washington works best when Coloradans are involved in the policymaking process and this annual conference provides that opportunity.”
