Washington, DC – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement on the 5th U.S. Circuit of Appeals Court refusal to lift a hold on President Obama’s executive action measures:

“In light of congressional inaction on immigration reform, the President is attempting to fix the system where he can. It is disappointing that even those efforts are being blocked. This decision is another reminder that Congress must break the logjam and fix our broken immigration system. A bipartisan bill, like the one that passed the Senate, would boost our economy, secure our borders, and prevent the tragic separation of millions of families.”

Today, advocates held a rally at the state capital building protesting the decision and highlighting the need for immigration reform.
