Washington, DC – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement following the announcement from Senate HELP Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA) that they will begin bipartisan process on a bill to fix No Child Left Behind:

“Fixing No Child Left Behind is long overdue. A bipartisan process that puts our kids and their future ahead of partisan politics is the best way forward. Chairman Alexander and Senator Murray have put us on that path and I look forward to working with them. We have important work ahead to help ensure that in this country all kids are prepared for success in the 21st century economy. As we write and debate this bill, we’ll make sure that input from Colorado’s teachers, administrators, parents, and students are part of theprocess.”
