Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet toured the Mountain Racing Products manufacturing facility as a part of his statewide innovation tour. Mountain Racing Products, a leading supplier of components for the biking industry, holds a number of patents on everything from seatposts to chain guides.
“Colorado companies like Mountain Racing Products have an entrepreneurial spirit that is driving innovation, resulting in patents on everything from mountain bike parts to energy-efficient engines. This innovation spurs economic growth and creates the jobs of the future,” Bennet said. “We need to continue advocating for policies that stimulate this innovation and encourage entrepreneurs to bring their ideas here to grow the state’s economy.”
Bennet’s tour of Mountain Racing Products is one in a series of visits he is making throughout the state this week and next to highlight Colorado’s inventive and entrepreneurial spirit. The tour is in advance of this summer’s opening of a U.S. Patent and Trademark satellite office in Denver, which will benefit Colorado’s innovation economy through an improved and more accessible patent process. Bennet coordinated the state’s effort to bring a satellite patent office to Colorado.
The innovation tour will continue with future stops planned in Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs. Follow along at #COinnovation.
