Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today congratulated Julie Shue from Corwin International Magnet School in Pueblo, Colorado on being named one of eleven Regional Principals of the Year by the Magnet Schools of America (MSA). The school is part of Pueblo City Schools and MSA’s Region VIII, which includes magnet schools in Colorado, Montana, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
“Strong leadership from our principals can increase student achievement, improve teacher retention, and transform the entire culture of a school,” Bennet, the former superintendent of Denver Public Schools, said. “It is great to see a school leader doing the hard work to provide a quality education that will prepare our kids for the 21st century economy. I am grateful we have Julie leading the way at Corwin International, and I hope she keeps up the good work.”
