Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement on U.S. House passage of the Food and Drug Administration bill:

“Bringing the FDA into the 21st century is critical for families across Colorado and the country who want to be sure that the drugs in their medicine cabinets will help, not harm them and their kids. This bill changes a number of antiquated regulations to improve the safety and quality of the drugs and therapies Coloradans use every day.  It also will help get new life-saving treatments to patients faster and support innovation in our health IT and bioscience sectors, which are growing in Colorado. I applaud the members of the House for moving swiftly on this important bill, and I look forward to working out the final details as the bill moves to a conference committee.”

Bennet helped push a version of the FDA bill  in the Senate last week that passed 96 -1. The bills now move to a conference committee to work out final details before heading to the White House to be signed into law.
