Washington, DC – Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement on the announcement that the Denver School of Science and Technology was chosen by online voters as one of the top three finalists in President Obama’s Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge:

“This is tremendous news for the students, teachers and parents of DSST and everyone who helped bring the school one step closer to the prize. I hope we receive good news that the President selects DSST as the winner on Tuesday.

“The class of 2010 at DSST achieved 100 percent acceptance into four-year colleges-a goal that graduating students have set and met at DSST for the last three years. Everyone who watched DSST’s application video can see what a dedicated, hardworking learning community DSST students and teachers have built, and I hope President Obama gets to see it in person.”
