Washington, DC – Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement today after the United States Senate confirmed the nomination of Tom Strickland to serve as the U.S. Department of Interior’s Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks by a vote of 89 to 2:
“I’ve been a friend of Tom’s for many years, and I know he will make an enormous difference for Colorado and the country in his new role. I respect his tremendous dedication to the public that he serves, and the professionalism and integrity he has displayed throughout his long and accomplished career.
“In his new role, Tom will serve as a voice for the West and an advocate for balanced and thoughtful management of our public lands and natural resources. I congratulate him on his confirmation, and look forward to working with him and Secretary Salazar on behalf of Colorado and the West.”
