Washington, DC – United States Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet announced today that Colorado will receive $103.5 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for state and local transportation authorities to build and repair Colorado’s public transportation infrastructure.

“These funds represent an important first step in getting our economy moving in a positive direction again,” Senator Udall said. “This funding will quickly put Coloradans to work on transportation projects in the state that are long overdue.”

“With these recovery plan dollars, we’ll put Coloradans to work building a new and improved transit system for the 21st century,” said Senator Bennet. “This funding will allow transit authorities across the state to get a backlog of worthwhile, shovel-ready projects off the ground – projects that will expand transit capacity, improve commuter safety and reduce congestion on our roads and highways.”
