Economy, Jobs and The Recovery Act

Like the rest of the nation, Colorado is feeling the pain of this economic crisis.  But with a new approach and new way of thinking, we can emerge from this recession stronger and more prosperous than before.

We've taken several steps so far to make that happen - steps that support long-term job creation and promote economic and financial stability for Colorado's working families.

We passed the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act.  Because of this bill, we're on our way to save or create 60,000 jobs in Colorado - jobs in areas like clean energy, health care, transportation and more.

It also cuts taxes for working families and small businesses and invests in a 21st century education system that will enable America and Americans to compete and succeed in the new economy.

It's a bold step in the right direction.  But we still have a lot of work to do if we are to fulfill the time-old American promise of a better life for those who come after us.

We need to tap into the American spirit that enabled generations before us to shed old ways of thinking and build for the future.

Working together, there's no limit to what we can achieve.
